Coming this Valentine’s (LOL) an all-new love? story from the mind that gave us The Sixth Sense, Trap, Signs, and even such classics as After Earth and The Last Airbender — M. Night has truly lived so many lives, I love him so dearly.
Shyamalan is nothing short of one of the most interesting dudes to ever make movies. Once lauded as the next Steven Spielberg, he now sits in a lane totally on his lonesome; whether or not you follow him is a total coin flip, but one thing is undeniable: there’s nothing like quite like a Shyamalan picture, for better or for worse.
This newest from the Split director sees him save Jake Gyllenhaal from Guy Ritchie streaming slop to star alongside Phoebe Dynevor in a fantasy/mystery romance that sees Gyllenhaal’s Tate Donovan arrive in Cape Cod to design a client’s summer home. During his stay, he encounters Wren (Phoebe Dynevor), a mysterious young woman who will challenge his perception of the world.
The film, whose story was co-created by novelist Nicholas Sparks, is to be shot by Train Dreams cinematographer Adolpho Veloso, and scored by the legendary James Newton Howard. And if this, hilariously, Mitski — My Love Mine All Mine-scored trailer is anything to go off, we’re in for a treat this Valentine’s.
